A Yoga Retreat with Oysho

Yoga. That mind, body, and soul practice was something that I only read about, until I first tried it a couple of weeks ago at a yoga retreat held by Oysho. Well, when I received the invitation to Oysho's yoga retreat that was held at Matarma Bay - Ras Sudr, Egypt, I got really excited, but didn't really know what to expect. When the day came, I was so ready with a 'let's do this!' spirit. What was very special about my first yoga class, was the fact that we were facing the beach, with the most peaceful scenery, you know, just like those Pinterest shots we see online. After a couple of stretches, some yoga chants here and there, a meditation attempt, and trying so hard to balance myself on one leg, I can safely say that yoga is not as simple as it seems. However, our instructor at the Oysho yoga retreat, Shama Kaur, was kind enough to make it as easy as 1, 2, 3 for first-timers. I may not be skilled enough to speak yoga, but from my very humble experience, I can tell you that it's a very thought-proving exercise, which makes you work on yourself mentally, psychically, and spiritually.

So, the Oysho yoga retreat may be over, but there's one thing I learned there that I've been doing on a daily basis. We all seem to lose our focus at several points during our day, don't we? It's time to discover your third eye; oh yes, according to yoga techniques you do have a third eye, and it's located just at the center of your forehead above your eyebrows. What should you do with your third eye? You should close your eyes, and roll them upwards, focusing on your third eye, for a couple of moments. If you can't do that, then you can do it with your eyes open focusing on an item that's not moving, for example, a pen on your desk or a frame on the wall in front of you, or even the tip of your nose. Don't forget to have your back straight, while exhaling and inhaling slowly through your nose. You'll be less distracted, more relaxed and ready to kick off after your short break.

Namaste lovely people, now share with us your yoga experiences, and on a side note, don't forget to stock up on Oysho's latest gym wear collection, you'll get to head to that class looking as stylish as ever.
