Spotlight on Sabry Marouf's ISIS Collection
It's not everyday you stumble upon a collaboration between designers/artists in Egypt that's very cool. The collaboration I'm referring to is between fashion jewelry brand Sabry Marouf and sound artist Bosaina, where they have joined forces to launch the ISIS collection. The limited edition ISIS collection designed by Sabry Marouf, the Egyptian based fashion jewelry brand, pays homage to the ancient Egyptian heritage with a contemporary approach. The collection is part of Sabry Marouf's Armure series of high-fashion costume jewelry, keeping up with the way they merge between the past and future in their designs. It's inspired by the mythical muse, Isis, where the designers have imagined the Pharaonic goddess' own world and the artifacts she was clad in, focusing on the enchantress side of her persona.
Now here comes the part where Bosaina is involved with the ISIS collection, the sound artist has composed a sound-scape using her brand of ambient electronica, where she applied a method of sculpting sounds from rawness into futuristic form, and she was inspired by Sabry Marouf's early storyboards for the ISIS collection.
It's quite interesting to see how art and fashion can intersect, diminishing the borders between them. The Sabry Marous ISIS collection is proof that individuality exists, so take a look at it...
