Accessory Trends in London Fashion Week
A slew of fashion weeks have ended and we're left to analyse the details presented in the massive number of shows. From trends to makeup and accessories, there's just so much to indulge in. A major spotlight will be put in this feature on the accessories showcased throughout Fashion Week, London Fashion Week to be specific. Without further ado, let's check out what will be the most coveted accessory trends for Spring/Summer 2014.
So there's practically everything! Pointy shoes, rounded shoes and peep toe. Gladiator sandals, sneaker pumps, wedges and flat boots. Surprisingly, there was very little presence of stilettos and pumps, in fact, most of the heels were on the lower side. A lot of the shoes showcased were printed or mixed various colours together, there was also a mix of patterns and some metallics.
There was LOTS of clutches in bright colors such as popping shades of yellow and orange. I also noticed the presence of pastels and neutrals. We got to see some backpacks on the runway too, not to mention the appearance of the trash bags on the runway! The perspex trend hasn't faded away yet, so you can still strut about with yours till summer 2014. One of my favorite bag trends from the runway of London Fashion Week is the clutches with the hand straps, like the bejeweled orange Matthew Willamson.
The belts were mostly thin to medium sized and colourful. There was also prespex transparent ones, with almost all belts positioned on the waist.
The sunglasses that appeared on the runway were oversized and round with mirrored lenses, which seem to be a major trend for next season. Get your Oakley Frogskin shades ready!
Actually I was shocked to see lots of fashion shows at London Fashion Week jewelry-free! Well it shouldn't be such a surprise as the focus is mainly on the clothes, but I still craved to see the outfits being complimented by some sparkly pieces. The most memorable arm candies and necklaces that made it to the runway were Azza Fahmy's collection for Matthew Williamson, which was delicate and very detailed and Pebble London for Ashish which featured chunky pieces with an African or oriental feel to it.
