An Army of High Schoolers by House of Nomad at Fashion Forward Season 5
When I first saw House of Nomad on the schedule of the fifth season of Fashion Forward Dubai, I was a little bit curious to see what they’ll be doing with their show. Mainly because all I’ve seen so far were their sweatshirts, and putting a complete fashion show together meant pushing their brand a step further and introducing a full range. Apparently the two gentlemen behind the brand, Saleh Al Banna and Ahmad Al Sayed, believe in the importance of moving slowly but surely.
I definitely felt nostalgic at House of Nomad’s show, which was inspired by high school movies in the 90’s such as Clueless and Cruel Intentions. House of Nomad’s collection had a very clear direction and they followed through with it in each and every aspect, and for that I salute them.
The one thing I wasn’t a big fan of was the ’N’ letter on some of the designs, as it reminded me way too much of the New Balance logo. The main colors used by House of Nomad were black, white and some grey, while their designs included a full range of crop tops, skirts, including a full skirt I really liked, cardigans, pants and dresses. House of Nomad left the best for last, a gorgeous and super chic asymmetric black dress with white details. The finale had a great vibe to it, where you could clearly identify an army of very well-dressed high schoolers.
