Words can't explain how disappointed I was after seeing Alexander Wang's Spring/Summer 2014 collection at New York Fashion Week. To begin with, the choice of fabrics was disastrous as it's mostly unwearable. The cotton dresses lacked structure and tailoring! I must say they kind of reminded me of hospital surgical gowns. You know what I mean? Some of the ensembles also seemed like men pajamas which didn't quite fit a model on the runway of New York Fashion Week.
Moreover, the choice of colors was nothing but boring and unappealing. The shades were only baby blue, grey, off-white, and black. No wait, I remember I got really excited when I barley spotted light pink pieces.
Trends spotted at Alexander Wang's Spring/Summer 2014 collection:
1. Leather Pants
2. Tartan
3. Pleats
4. Wide Pants
5. High-waist Shorts
6. Crop-tops
Best thing about Alexander Wang Spring/Summer 2014 collection?
I don't know what to say here. The only thing I spotted and liked at Alexander Wang's Spring/Summer 2014 collection were the pleated leather dresses and the long leather jacket. Another cool thing I spotted at Alexander Wang's show was the dress with his name on it, a nice idea but a bit overrated.
Worst thing about it?
I hate to say everything! He even pulled off the tartan trend in a very unexciting way. It seemed like a Fall/Winter fashion show. Alexander Wang's Spring/Summer 2014 collection at New York Fashion Week is far away from being flirty or even chic.
