The name Marchesa in the fashion industry always infuses glamorous vibes, and that's why we await nothing but glamorous collections from the high-end label. This brings me to the Marchesa Spring/Summer 2014 collection at New York Fashion Week, which got me a little bit disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the collection did include some beautiful dresses, but I wasn't wowed like the usual with the Marchesa collection. Aside with my disappointment, the Marchesa Spring/Summer 2014 collection was delicate with a gothic feel, the models actually had fake tattoos on their bodies. I also felt some bohemian accents in the details such as the fringes.
Trends spotted at Marchesa Spring/Summer 2014 collection:
1. Lace
2. Floral Prints
3. Gothic
4. Pastels
5. Black

7. Sheer
Best thing about Marchesa Spring/Summer 2014 collection?
Although I mentioned that this wasn't the collection that I had expected from Marchesa, it was nice to see a relaxed side to the label that's known for over-the-top evening gowns. The beauty in this collection exists in the details, the layers of sheer tulle, lace and delicate embroidery. My favorite piece was the dress made from strands of pearls, I loved how they swayed as the model was moving.
Worst thing about it?
I didn't like the look of the lingerie-inspired dresses, I saw them more of vampy slip dresses rather than fancy evening gowns.
