Marc Jacobs bids Farewell to Louis Vuitton
After the breathtaking Louis Vuitton fashion show at Paris Fashion Week yesterday, it was announced that Marc Jacobs is leaving the luxury label to focus on his own fashion label. Marc Jacobs certainly left a remarkable print on the renowned fashion house and the world's fashion scene. The departure between the Artistic Director, Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton comes after 16 years of a dedicated collaboration.
It has been rumored that Marc Jacobs decided that yesterday's fashion show will be his last, just before the show started. A lot of reviews mentioned the black theme was commemorating his farewell with LV, yet the show wasn't planned with the intent of it being the last. It's also worth mentioning that his first show ever with Louis Vuitton in 1998 had the same all black color theme.
Marc Jacobs recreated scenes from previous Louis Vuitton fashion shows; he revisited the carousel, the fountain, the escalators and elevators, which are things that formed past memorable moments for the fashion house's shows. I truly think that he couldn't have ended it in a more impressive manner.
