Simple, outgoing and plain. This Spring/Summer 2014 Collection from Derem Lam didn't really have much going on. I didn't see so many colors on the runway. I only witnessed black, white, grey and yellow hues. One thing I really liked about Derek Lam's fashion show at New York Fashion Week was the accessories. He paid extra attention to head pieces as he used catchy monochrome turbans, wide leather belts and charismatic gladiators.
Trends spotted at Derek Lam Spring/Summer 2014 collection:
1. Denim
2. Monochrome
3. Cutouts
4. Crop Tops
5. Maxi Dresses
6. Knee-length Skirts
Best thing about Derek Lam Spring/Summer 2014 collection:
Some pieces truly combine one of the hottest summer trends. From cutouts, to monochrome and knee-length skirts trend all in one piece.
Worst thing about it?
Not very playful. The designs were unfitted as some dresses seemed like a piece of cloth wrapped around the model on the catwalk. I expected to see more detailing. Lack of using many colors was also noted.
