Three Designers to Watch Out for at Milan Fashion Week Fall 2014
Instead of doing a typical round up of all the fashion shows for Milan Fashion Week 2014, I decided to pick my three favorite non-typical shows and tell you why these designers should be on your watch list. They are super creative, colorful and I can guarantee that you will want each and very piece of the runway. Their pieces are very wearable, and adding just one of their items to your fall wardrobe is one hell of a stylish investment. So here are three designers to watch out for at Milan Fashion Week 2014.
Alessandro Dell'Acqua truly has a talent for making masculine tailoring look so feminine. I think the secret to that art in his Fall 2014 collection, was his use of holographic sequins. A glittery pattern of red roses, silver embellishments, sheer skirts, and camel wool were spotted quite frequently on the runway. If I had to describe the No.21 Fall 2014 collection in a nut shell, I would say, it is a statement collection of comfortable elegance.
Every jacket, coat, blazer in the Aquilano.Rimondi Fall 2014 collection is a statement, it was the outerwear that made the outfits. I particularly loved the color palette of this collection, it included browns, olive green, maroon red, greys, and some metallic detailing. However, there were two exceptional colorful coats, with fur collars that stood out in the entire collection. The wonderful thing about Aquilano.Rimondi's jackets, is that they were paired with pants, dresses, skirts and looked superb. To draw your focus away from the jackets, the dresses were extremely unique too. Aquilano.Rimondi added silver embellishments and sheer cloth details to the dresses, making them extremely unique. There is something in this collection for every woman's style.
I have a soft spot for collections that have a colorful palette to them, such as the Stella Jean Fall 2014 collection. Strong prints and African touches can be spotted throughout the entire runway looks. This collection was really diverse, from kimonos and skirts, to tailored jackets and robes. What striked me most about this collection, is that it would be very appealing for the hijab fashionistas. A jacket or shirt from Stella Jean 2014 collection will stand out and transform an entire outfit. In my opinion, Stella Jean layered her pieces beautifully, mixing the right colors and not making the outcome look too bulky.
