Here's How a Protein Diet Will Help You Lose Weight and Improve Your Health

Every now and then, a new diet proves to be an effective one after being tried by several people. Recently, a lot of people have been praising Protein Diet not only for how much it contributes in a healthy lifestyle, but also for how tasty its meals turn out to be!

So what is a protein diet? How can we follow it, and why is it a good choice? Follow up to find all you need to know about protein diet, as well as some tasty meals that you can prepare while following that diet.

What is Protein Diet?

It is a diet plan that mainly includes food that is rich in protein.

Why should I choose Protein Diet, and how can it benefit my health?

1. Proteins increase the body's secretion of glucagon and peptide, which are the main substances that reduce the feeling of hunger which consequently cause less appetite leading to weight loss.

2. Protein works to reduce the proportion of the hormone Ghrelin known as "the hunger hormone" in the body. As a result, a person feels full more often and becomes in less need to eat.

3. Scientifically, proteins help the body burn more calories since the process of digesting protein increases the metabolic rate by almost 35.20%, unlike carbohydrates which cause a metabolic rate of only 15%

4. Proteins normally prevents the loss of the body muscles; by such, eating enough amounts of proteins naturally keeps the body fit.

Does it have any negative effects?

1. In some cases, it might increase the tendency of cardiovascular diseases as a result of the increase of blood cholesterol due to the increased protein intake.

2. The body may sometimes become unable to burn glucose.

3. This diet isn't usually recommended for people that take diuretics or diabetes patients that take insulin.

4. Too much intake of red meat can cause the infection of gout disease.

5. If the body's intake of fibers and sugars isn't enough, this might cause chronic headache and constipation.

Before you decide to go on a protein diet, make sure you do the following:

1. Determine your body's daily needed amount of protein. You can do this by calculating (your weight in kilograms x 1.6) to get the amount of protein needed in grams.

2. For the optimum results, make sure that your protein intake isn't less than 20 grams per day.

3. Make sure to diversify and balance your diet between both animal and plant protein.

4. Your diet should include vegetables and fruits even if they're in a small amount.

And now, what are the steps that I should follow to apply a high-protein diet?
