Winter 2012 Nail Polish Trends
After an excess dose of neon hues and funky shades, this season’s nail polish trends are more on the minimal side. This is fall after all, so it has to come with darker shades of color. Check out the latest trends for nail polish colors this season, they can be a dazzling accessory to your nails.
1. Earth-tone Grey
Grey is totally in this season. It’s the perfect alternative for your usual nude nail polish. This earth-toned color matches anything and everything you wear, I tried it myself! Lancome, Nars and ZOYA are featuring the best grey shades this season. Lancome features this dark greyish hue 'Noir Caviar' that compliments lighter skin tones, while Nars introduces ‘Storm Bird,’ another gorgeous dark grey hue. Zoya has a medium-dark toned grey color that has a tinge of violet called 'Kelly.'
2. Oxblood Red
Red nail polish is so dominating and NEVER goes out of style! There’s just something about it that’s so posh and glamorous. You can always count on Chanel as they offer the best red shades ever, this season they are presenting a limited edition shimmery 'Malice.' Also, just one coat of Essie’s 'Berry Naughty' red or OPI's 'Got the Blues for the Red' would be utterly perfect for the fall season.
3. Royal Navy Blue
Surprisingly, this color matches every skin tone. If you want to pull off a darker tone then you should definitely go for this blue shade. Orly’s 'Star of Bombay' deep blue nail polish gives a sophisticated edge to your casual morning look. For a late night look, you can opt for a shimmery hue like Dior’s 'Tuxedo' blue or Estee Lauder’s 'Blue Blood' nail polish.
