An Insight Into Sarah Angold's Pure Gold Collection
In short, Sarah Angold is a creator. A creator of sculptures, fashion and products that are at the vanguard of contemporary design. She won awards such as the HClub 100 Creativity award and was a recent recipient of Vogue Italia's Design Innovation award.
Fun fact about Sarah Angold's creations: each limited edition piece is handmade in London, and arrives with a personalized note, sharing its inspiration.
Now that we have given you a little insight about Sarah Angold, it is time to direct your attention to the launch of her Pure Gold collection at the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience 2014. This collection was made especially to be displayed at The Dubai Mall, and it introduced hand-dyed ombre acrylic, and is luxuriously electrformed and hand-plated with pure gold.
One of the most amazing pieces I have seen, is the 'Super Relay Elector' necklace. It was electroformed, in which each acrylic piece was laser cut, hand sanded, magnetized, covered in metallic power, resounded and then encased in pure gold using an electric current. The 'Super Relay' necklace, looks like two profiles of swans or eagles and they are held together at the leg with a golden shape.
With such a unique and creative process, one of Sarah Angold's necklaces takes up to a month to build. Which is why this exquisite collection is limited edition, consisting of only five individually engraved pieces.
You know how ombre hair had been trending, well Sarah Angold brought the ombre to her acrylic jewelry. She described her ombre pieces as, 'futuristic chic', each piece possessing glamour and sophistication. They may look quite big and extravagant, but they are in fact extremely light weighted and effortlessly wearable, which let's face it, is the most important aspect of statement jewelry.
Now that I gave you a little insight into the world and craftsmanship of Sarah Angold's designs, I will leave you to lust after the breath-taking jewelry. You can rest assured that if you ever do purchase one of these limited pieces, you will be investing in a unique piece of art. Which of course, as stated above, will come with a personalized note as to how the designer herself was inspired by the piece you are wearing.
