At any red carpet event, you're bound to find the good, the bad, and the ugly. Yes, I'm talking about the celebrities' fashion choices here! The MTV Video Music Awards 2014 was held last night, and I couldn't let such an event pass by without having a closer look at what the celebrities wore. The MTV Video Music Awards red carpet is one where the celebrities usually go for bold, sexy and sometimes even controversial looks, and this year it was no different. Here's a recap of celebrity looks at the MTV Video Music Awards 2014...
First things first, I have to say that Balmain dominated the MTV Video Music Awards 2014, where Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Joan Smalls, Chanel Iman, and Jourdan Dunn were all spotted wearing designs by the French fashion house. However, I didn't like all of the looks, and I have to say that Kendall Jenner and Joan Smalls were my favorites who were dressed in Balmain.
The Arab fashion designers surely made a mark at the MTV Video Music Awards 2014 red carpet! Nina Dobrev looked dazzling in a red and black Zuhair Murad dress, Jennifer Lopez was a sexy vision in a sparkly silver Charbel Zoe cutout dress and Beyonce wore two long-sleeved dresses, one was by Zuhair Murad and the other was by Nicolas Jebran.
A lot of celebrities dumped the dresses and went for matching tops and bottoms, my favorites were Miley Cyrus in a black leather Alexander Vauthier outfit, Gwen Stefani in a hot pink L.A.M.B ensemble and Lucy Hale in a Sachin + Babi crop top and skirt. However, not all celebrities got the matching top and bottom look right, as I think Solange Knowles in her H&M black pantsuit was a total mess. Her blazer was way too over-sized and it didn't look flattering at all, it was just a bad choice.
Now let's talk about the risk-takers at the MTV Video Music Awards 2014... Just look at Taylor Swift in her Mary Katrantzou bodysuit! I think she rocked the look, and it couldn't work for anyone but her. It's a different style than what we're usually used to see Taylor Swift in, but I salute her for a daring (and good!) choice. I also have to mention Katy Perry, who recreated the infamous denim look by Britney Spears. Well, Katy Perry's Versace denim dress isn't something that I would personally like, but she definitely made a statement!
Red dresses. There were lots of them spotted at the MTV Video Music Awards 2014, however, I think that Jamie Chung stood out the most in a red embellished Versace mini dress. Oh, and last but not least, let's not forget about the maternity style on the red carpet! Kelly Rowland was definitely a sexy mum-to-be in a sequined KaufmanFranco maxi dress.
Now take a look at the celebrities, and let us know your thoughts...
