Arab Fashion Designers at the Golden Globes
No one does glam like Arab fashion designers do, and especially the ones who know how to do it right. Everyone has been going on and on about their favorite looks during the 2013 Golden Globe Awards, even us, but one thing I really wanted to highlight because I'm truly proud of, are the Arab fashion designers who dressed celebrities on attending that glamorous event.
Don't miss our selection of Best and Worst Dressed Celebrities at the 2013 Golden Globes.
1. Aiisha Ramadan
Celebrity? Raya Abirached
Why? The champagne silk gown looked flawless on Raya from Scoop, my only concern is the drapery on the right side could have been a bit less.
2. Reem Acra
Celebrity? Isla Fischer
Why? The color is amazing, the fine details including the glitzy crystals are great and it flatters her body shape. The tail of the dress could have been a bit more dramatic.
3. Rami Al Ali
Celebrity Name? Carla Gugino
Why? Love the idea of the dress, but it feels like she should have gone a size bigger.
4. Tony Ward
Celebrity Name? Zosia Mamet
Why? It's a dress I would wear and I think it's amazing; including leather is cool, but it needs someone with a little more attitude and definitely not on the red carpet.
5. Zuhair Murad
Celebrity Name? Jennifer Lopez and Miranda Kerr
Rating? 7.5 (JLO) and 9.5 (Miranda)
Why? The thing I feel doesn't need to be highlighted in Jennifer Lopez's body are her hips, yet for some reason the gown designed by Zuhair Murad seems to do that perfectly. I'm guessing it's because of the silhouette of the dress, which is tight on the hips and slim around the legs.
As for Miranda Kerr who was spotted in a Zuhair Murad gown, I must say the color and the cut look great on her, I just feel with both the slit and the big V she might be taking it a bit too far. But then again, she's a Victoria's Secret Angel, so she can get away with it!
6. Elie Saab
Celebrity? Lea Michele
Why? I don't like halter necks, however I love white, sparkly and the slit is a great addition.
