Chocolart the Dubai Edition
We're very excited to tell you all about one of the most fun events of the season we were part of! Chocol'art at the Movies, a charity event in support of Make a Wish Foundation UAE, took place on March 30th on the terrace of the Emirates Towers in Dubai and hosted a night full of art, fashion, music and, of course, a lot of chocolate! Let's share with you the best moments of the night and why we loved it so much.
Even though it was a sunny day, this didn't stop all the participants from coming in since noon to bring their work and set up for the big night; artists were hanging their paintings, designers and exhibitors were preparing their space, excited to show their work to the public.
We were very excited to set up our space with a Breakfast at Tiffany's theme! Starting with hanging the Audrey Hepburn background, all the accessories we got from Cairo, the beautiful LBD and hat from Bambah Boutique and the delicious Hey Sugar treats made specifically or the theme. aennis eunis' bag was also a big hit among all attendees, and it got auctioned off with full proceeds going to Make a Wish foundation.
It was all about chocolate and we definitely didn't mind! Lindt and Shakespeare and Co. were giving away chocolate to all the attendees so if you have a sweet tooth, then this was your perfect friday night! We can't talk about chocolate without mentioning the huge chocolate diamond Zafar Ahmed was auctioning off. A piece of art!
One of the most interesting parts of the night was the live art, artists were painting and spray painting on not only walls but also a giant shoe and big stars, so we could actually see art being created! This gave a very unique, moment by moment feel to the event.
The atmosphere couldn't be complete without some good music, don't you think? The DJ made sure to create a fun and exciting mood that goes with the whole concept of Chocol'art. We enjoyed listening and singing along songs we all love but with the DJ's own modern upbeat and cheerful twist.
The lovely Simone Heng was the host of the night at Chocol'art - Dubai Edition, bringing in a very fun and positive spirit. She walked around the place to interview artists and designers who were participating in the auction. Also, we were very happy to see the one and only Shamim Kassibawi make an appearance on stage with a fun competition in collaboration with Garnier.
Many pieces from bags, clothing to hats and paintings and of course chocolate baskets were auctioned off to raise funds for the Make A Wish Foundation UAE. People were able to walk around and put their bids on the sheets placed next to the auctioned items. At the end of the night, the host, Simone Heng, revealed the winners of each bid for them to collect their pieces.
We are proud to say that Chocol'art attracted over 1000 guests! It is great to see how people are always willing to help and get involved for a good cause. If you were not able to attend this time, make sure not to miss the next ones throughout the region, because we're sure they'll be just as unforgettable as this edition.
We personally enjoyed the fun performers dressed up in burlesque-ish outfits who were walking around the venue and taking pictures with the guests. We also loved Sephora's branded Mini, it had really cute eyelashes! At one corner, there was a screen where movies were playing and Minis parked giving this whole outdoors drive in cinema feel.
Last but not least, THE INCREDIBLE HULK
A huge statue of the Incredible Hulk holding an also giant chocolate bar was welcoming people at the entrance of the event. The entire movies theme of Chocol'art was present all around the venue in different forms and this famous character definitely reflected it perfectly.
To sum it up, Chocol'art at the Movies was an exceptional night where artists, performers, designers and of course, attendees got the opportunity to have fun, bid and eat lots of chocolate while supporting a great cause. We're looking forward to Chocol'art's next event in Amman, and meanwhile you can watch our video here.
