Our Favorite Fall 2013 Full Skirts
Back in the 50s, the full skirt was a staple in every woman's wardrobe,
and for Fall 2013, that voluminous silhouette is fully back on trend.
Full skirts were once the epitome of feminine and ladylike style, but
this season, everyone can wear those waist-hugging skirts according to
their own sense of fashion. Consider the length while shopping for full
skirts, don't go too short and pick a midi hemline, but make sure it's
proportionate to your height. If you're tall, go for a full skirt that
goes below your knees, and if you're short go for one that hits just
above your knees. Just keep that trick in mind, and wear full skirts
with high heels to balance out its voluminous shape and accentuate your
legs for a slim figure.
You should also consider the puffiness of the full skirt you're picking according to your body shape. If you're more on the curvy side, pick an A-line shape with subtle volume, and try to define your waist with a belt. If you don't have body curves and you're more on the slim side, you can get away with added volume and flounce, it can actually help you add some sexy curves to your body shape. However, just make sure you don't overdo it with the volume, you don't want to end up looking like a lost Disney princess in a ballgown!
The most common (and shape flattering) way to wear full skirts is to pair them with a fitted tucked-in top, but I encourage you to break the rules and try them out with t-shirts, crop tops, denim shirts and biker jackets to keep it modern, as I said earlier, wear them according to your style. This season, the full skirt isn't only limited to evening looks, it can be worn for mornings as well, where you can embrace a fresh casual look by pairing it with a simple sweater and ballerina flats. Now take a look at some of our favorite full skirts this season...
