As evident from the name, Sara Hegazy's latest collection is inspired by Queen Cleopatra, and took a turn to a more avant-garde direction. As you begin to analyze the gowns, you will notice the immense amount of crystals that adorned the ensembles, to perfectly portray Cleopatra’s luxurious lifestyle. Well, these crystals were custom made only for this collection by Asfour Crystal International.
I will get into the description of the gowns in a minute, but for now I would like to draw your attention to the artistic shooting of the Cleopatra collection done by Blow Creative Studio. It was shot at Sofitel Legend Old Cataract in Aswan, Egypt, a breath-taking location I must say. The choice of the location was perfection, channeling Egypt's golden Pharaoh days and illustrating Cleopatra's royalty, power and beauty. I could go on and on about how the choice of the shoot by Blow Creative Studio was superb, but sometimes pictures speak louder than words. I have to say what I truly loved about the shoot was the story line, walking us through the significant moments of Cleopatra's life, for example, the moment she tried to trick Cesar she was committing suicide whereas she was running away up until the end when she took her own life.
Cleopatra, though a very powerful and strong women, was very much in touch with her feminine side, and that was clearly displayed through the gowns of this collection. Sara Hegazy showcased her collection during Paris Fashion Week and won second place at the Tiffany's Fashion Week Paris. The collection is truly one of a kind, as the designer used her very own roots to create pieces that you have never seen before. From fierce to feminine and romantic, Sara Hegazy’s collection tries to embody every characteristic of Queen Cleopatra.
I will leave you with some pictures, what do you think of Sarah Hegazy's fifth collection?
