Inspired by Coco Chanel and Janis Joplin, Giambattista Valli presented
his Spring 2015 Haute Couture collection at Paris Fashion Week. The
Italian designer, had two different women as his muses for this season's
collection, and if you knew a little bit about them, you'll clearly
spot the inspiration in different pieces.
Coco Chanel was all about black and white and menswear-inspired clothes, and I could see that reflected in the first looks and the use of the houndstooth print. On the other hand, I guess Janis Joplin inspired Giambattista Valli to create the looks with the dresses layered over pants, as she was known for wearing layers upon layers. I'm not particularly a fan of this trend, but for some reason Valli got away with it.
Now to my most favorite part of Giambattista Valli's Spring 2015 Haute Couture collection, the fluffy, voluminous pink dresses! As usual, Giambattista Valli managed to end his show in a very theatrical way, by sending models down the runway in artistic masterpieces.
