Olivia Palermo surprised us all with her unconventioanl wedding dress from Carolina Herrera, and so I was extremely eager to see what this fab designer had in store for her Fall 2015 bridal collection. I will say this, the collection was based on sheer elegance and femininity. Off the shoulder gowns, rich lace dresses and sheer boleros stood out throughout the show.
Leave it to Pronovias to make a collection that features everything and anything. The Fall 2015 collection was a diverse one, starting with a long-sleeve chiffon top, paired with a feathered skirt and embellished belt. Can you ask for anything more unique? Then there was also the more simplistic side of this Fall 2015 collection, with long gowns with lace detailing and a subtle sweetheart cut.
Oscar de la Renta
It can't be bridal week without Oscar de la Renata. After the whole world saw Amal Alamuddin, or should I say Amal Clooney's wedding dress, every bride-to-be will be lusting after Oscar de la Renta's Fall 2015 bridal collection. Exceeding my expectations, this collection was not just elegant but extremely graceful. Every dress had its very own personality, and I felt a very Spanish theme in all of them. I can totally see the bride going for a Spanish up do, with flowers in her hair and red lipstick.
If there is one show to swoon over during bridal fashion week, it's Monique Lhuillier's Fall 2015 collection. Sheer elegance dominated the runway; every look more stunning than the one before. There is something in this collection for every type of bride. Whether you want to go for an all white, yet distinct look, or go against tradition and opt for a blush graceful dress with floral detailing, Monique Lhuillier's collection is fabulous.
Having just designed Lauren Conrad's stunning wedding dress, I was extremely curious to see Badgley Mischka's Fall 2015 collection. Embellishment and beading took over most of this fall's collection, but was it over done? Absolutely not! In fact, the beading gave life to the more or less simplistic dresses that walked the runway. Personally, I loved the unique layered dress with floral detailing. Reflecting a very modern, yet extremely elegant bride. Leave it to Badgley Mischka to make what may seem like a typical wedding dress, truly one of a kind.
The Marchesa Fall 2015 bridal collection is a collection for the princesses. The bride who wants to channel her inner Kate Middleton, or a more daring Grace Kelly, the Marchesa Fall 2015 bridal collection is the one for you. I loved seeing a champagne colored dress within the collection. Also the short, as in knee length, wedding dress, reminded me of Keira Knightley's wedding look. Dare to try it?
A fun bride means a fun wedding, more importantly a fun bride always wears a fun wedding dress, enters Reem Acra's Fall 2015 bridal collection. Cropped wedding dresses, floral head pieces, floral belts, elegant lace ensembles, and superb floral detailing, what more can one ask for? Two pieces in this diverse collection truly caught my attention; firstly, the fitted sweetheart lace wedding dress, with embellishments around the cups and floral straps, such a poised look. As for my second piece, the layered poofy dress with a floral strap serving as a belt. Now that is extremely unique.
I have to say I was a bit disappointed with Vera Wang's Fall 2015 bridal collection. The collection consisted of seven pieces, which were a bit too minimalistic for Vera Wang. The oversized flower made out of tulle kind of stole the spotlight from the beautifully decorated lace ensemble with beaded detailing. I have to give credit to the final dress in the collection, the back detailing was truly elegant and the fit is what made the dress what it is.
