A Chat with Grace Rady About Wedding Planning and Her YouTube Channel

When did you know you wanted to be a wedding planner?

I've always wanted to be a wedding planner and event organizer since I was in university. I had a fair experience working in media and event services, and later founded Protocol, which is a marketing and events company since 2006 based off Doha. As I continued in the business, Gracy's Wedding was founded to specialize in Haute Couture weddings. And that's how it all took off.

You just launched Grace Rady's YouTube channel. Tell us more about it.

The concept behind the Grace Rady channel came off a gap that I noticed in the digital media and blogging scene. There are no weddings or brides sources that are both informative and accessible enough for girls and brides to learn more about weddings and creating/preparing themselves for their big day, and in our Arab tongue language.

That's how the Grace Rady channel was born. We aim to become every girl and bride's go-to source that is both trustful and informative about everything that relates to the wedding and bridal world. From fashion to beauty to wedding concepts and so much more that an everyday girl searches the web for. I'm trying to present the gist of my expertise as well as other notable professionals in a very simple yet fun way that would hopefully make every girl prepared and well-informed about making her dream wedding a reality.

Social media strongly influences people's lives nowadays. How was wedding planning affected?

Social media helped the wedding business in a very positive way to those who know how to use it wisely. It made it easier to connect with costumers, promote business and reach new potential clients. There is no doubt that with all the social media sites, it is now easier to expand to bigger geographical markets as interaction is more effective and easier, and to learn what people really want and look for when it comes to wedding planning.

What differentiates Grace Rady from other wedding planners?

I take each project very personal as if I'm planning my own wedding. I dedicate so much out of myself and my expertise to make sure I create the right wedding for the bride that is heavily inspired by her personality and lifestyle. I'm involved in every detail from her look to her style to her bridal shower, all the way leading to the honeymoon. It is vital for me to make any client's dream wedding a legit reality.

A piece of advice to couples who are just starting to plan their wedding.

Just be calm. Make sure you work with a wedding planner that understands your needs and helps bring your wedding vision to life. Trust the planner and follow the advice they give you because they know best, and try to enjoy the experience and not stress about decisions and details.

What are the most important elements for a successful wedding party?

Creativity, details and efficient team work communication for the planner. For the bride, cherish the moments and enjoy the beauty of this experience.

Can you share with us the most rewarding moment in your career so far?

I believe in every wedding I planned, it's that "Thank You" moment and smile of gratitude that I get from the bride. It is the most rewarding feeling I could ever imagine. That I was able to make someone's special dream a living reality.

Your schedule can get quite busy. What do you like to do in your free time?
