Once upon a time... Ana Simonovic tells us more about the exciting story behind ShoeRA.com.
ShoeRA owes its existence not only to me, but to my dearest husband Dimitrije who persuaded me to start blogging about my passion for shoes and other fashionable things I like. So it wouldn't be incorrect to say ShoeRA is our first baby. We moved from our home town Belgrade to Dubai more than four years ago to pursue a career in architecture and interior design. As a full time architect working for renowned DSA Architects International, famous by Dubai's Madinat Jumeira and Old Town, my writing and research happens in the night and on weekends. It's quite hard and exhausting sometimes, especially when I run straight from the office to a very stylish event, changing clothes and putting makeup on the move! But it's exciting and extremely fulfilling at the same time. A very dear friend of mine Kristina, personal stylist and former model, is shoeRA's most valued contributor and we love visiting fashionable events together. Designing shoes, having my own brand and shops all over the world is my big dream. That brand will be dedicated to my mom in whose heels I stumbled around the house as a little girl. She's my first mentor, a lady I learn from about style and how important it is to stand out wearing a fabulous pair of shoes. I hope my dream will come true!
Who’s your fashion icon; Middle Eastern & Western?
Sheikha Mozah of Qatar is a truly inspiring woman and I admire her style and energy in such demanding role. On the other side I have huge respect for Anna Dello Russo and her 4000 pair of shoes! She never fails to amaze me.
If you had to describe the word Fashion in a sentence, what would it be?
Fashion is an ancient mythical creature, half Goddess half human, a miracle we all believe in, no matter which religion we belong to!

I adore my yellow Manolos, but from the bottom of my heart I yearn for Christian Louboutin’s Pink Escandria Satin Pumps....ah.
