At Sandra Mansour our brand aesthetic revolves around, chic, effortless elegance, that tells a certain story.
How do you feed your creativity and stay inspired?
It’s all about traveling, and immersing myself in wonderful books that I read, they give me a sense of inspiration that I find myself easily transported into a world that I would like to design.
You started your fashion journey with Elie Saab; what’s the no.1 lesson you learned from him?
To always focus on one thing at a time, he allowed me to realize the skill of being focused and the ability that comes with focus.
Haute Couture vs. Ready-to-Wear. Which captures your heart the most?
Ready-to-wear, because it’s more practical, modern and functional.
Your workshop is in Beirut; how important is it to support local artisans?
I love the fact that all my tailors are Lebanese, it brings me so much pride to say that everything from start to finish happens in my atelier, and it’s a journey that we’ve taken together.
What’s your take on the new concept of “see now, buy now” fashion shows?
The best part about “see now, buy now” fashion shows is that they allow the customer the ability to purchase the pieces they like on the spot, instead of waiting 6 months.
It is said that fashion is an international language. Do you agree?
Yes of course, like all forms of art it transcends all cultural barriers, and allows people from all walks of life to express themselves, and it translates one’s identity and personality into a universal one.
