Fasting in Ramadan is great for the spirit and the soul; it’s like a spiritual detox. However, fasting is not only good for the soul, its health benefits are even better. So get know about the five health benefits of fasting in Ramadan.

1. Fasting is a great detox for your body.

The first health benefit of fasting in Ramadan is body detox. Stop looking for detox diet plans, Ramadan is your ticket to a healthier and toxins-free body. Also, not eating or drinking for several hours motivates your body to burn more from your existing fats to provide you with energy. And then your body starts to get rid of the toxins stuck inside. Besides, you should always break your fasting with water and hydrating drinks before eating, it’s a great way to help your body flush toxins out and help suppress your appetite.

2. Fasting strengthens your immunity system.

Fasting in Ramadan works to increase the ratio of adiponectin hormone in your body. This hormone works on increasing metabolism in your body, it also helps your body get the maximum benefit from vitamins and nutrients. Adiponectin hormone regulates glucose in your blood flow, it breaks fatty acids and it stimulates blood circulation.

3. Fasting treats your acne.

Did you know that one of the health benefits of fasting is treating your acne? The toxins in your body are one of the main reasons you have acne, and as I mentioned before, fasting in Ramadan cleanses your body from toxins, which won’t only make your body internally healthy, it will also reflect on your skin.

4. Fasting activates brain cells.

Many medical researches have shown that the mental competency of the brain increases and becomes active during Ramadan. Even during fasting hours, you become more focused. Fasting in Ramadan stimulates nerve cells and aids in the production of new ones which will eventually make your brain function in a better way. Besides, fasting works on decreasing Cortisol, which eventually makes you feel more relaxed, during and after Ramadan.

5. Fasting help you lose weight.

Another great health benefit of fasting in Ramadan, is that it's the ultimate opportunity to lose weight! If you follow a healthy diet plan, or even decrease your fat and carbs intake, and perform a mild workout every day during Ramadan, you’ll definitely notice a change in your body by the end of the month. Also, doctors say that fasting stimulates your body to produce Adrenaline hormone that works on breaking the fats stored in your body!
