Five Styling Lessons to Take from Chanel's Pre-Fall 2016 Show
Chanel recently took everyone on a Parisian trip in the heart of Rome. Well, how is that even possible? The truth is, with Karl Lagerfeld, everything is possible! It was Chanel's Métiers d’Art show, presenting the Pre-Fall 2016 collection, which was showcased in Rome, and the set recreated a little Parisian neighborhood. The outcome was an extravagant presentation with models channeling a young Brigitte Bardot. I flipped through all the looks and decided to share with you five styling lessons to take from Chanel's Pre-Fall 2016 show. After all, it's all in the details, and how you put together the perfect outfit. So, let's get inspired from Chanel.
1. Bring out the tights.
There were almost no bare legs at the Chanel Pre-Fall 2016 fashion show, as the outfits were styled with lace tights. You have to know that tights are a perfect way to transition your wardrobe from one season to another. Textured tights are obviously on trend, but make sure to set them off with a simple outfit.
2. Drape your coat over your shoulders.
The coolest way to wear your coat nowadays, is to drape it over your shoulders. Karl Lagerfeld knows that, and that's why models walking down the runway at the Chanel Pre-Fall 2016 fashion show had their coats draped over their shoulders. An easy styling trick to instantly look chic!
3. Tie your jacket around your waist.
Looking for another way to wear your jacket? Tie it around your waist, just like one of the looks showcased on Chanel's Pre-Fall 2016 runway. Remember when this was very popular during the 90's? Now it's back on trend, and you can tie a shirt too for an edgy flair.
4. Layer your necklaces.
Accessorizing gets much more fun when you layer and layer! Get inspired by Chanel's way of layering up dainty necklaces, to have a truly fashion-forward look. Mix and match short and long necklaces; the more, the better!
5. Go monochrome.
A black and white combination never goes out of style. For the Pre-Fall 2016 collection, Chanel presented monochromatic looks, mixing black and white in an effortless way and in true Chanel form. Also, there was a fusion of fabrics; leather, lace, knit, sheer and tweed.
