Patience in the 21st Century
Recently I started to drive, and I’m sure everyone knows what a challenge that is especially in our beloved Cairo. From rushing cars left and right to angry drivers stuck in the same spot for over 30 minutes, I learned to be a bit patient. Going through traffic everyday has made me realize how important it is in our lives. So how is that? We live in the 21st century and every second counts in this world of continuous change, but sometimes we just need to stop and be patient, give ourselves and the people around us the time to breath.
I’m not just talking about driving, but even with relationships whether between friends or lovers, patience plays a crucial role. A few days ago, a friend of mine talked to me about some problems she was facing with her significant other. As she told me about what’s happening between them, I couldn’t help but think that they have no patience. They keep on pushing for immediate answers from one another and anyone involved in that problem, which only results in making things worse. I believe that so many problems in our hectic lives can be solved by giving it a little time to turn into something beautiful. After all, a tiny seed needs time to blossom and turn into a beautiful flower. Just learn to be patient!
