A Chat with Yasmin Mansour About Fashion Design
Yasmin Mansour, an up and coming fashion designer who made her mark in the Middle Eastern fashion scene, due to her exquisite talent. When did your passion for fashion design start?
My passion for fashion and fashion designing started at a really early age. I remember I was drawing some dresses when I was only 13 years of age.
How did the first ever Yasmin Mansour piece come to life?
My first piece came to life when I was thinking about how a lady can look attractive, and powerful. Thus, the result of my thought were embodied in my first piece which was a cape.
Your new collection is all about impeccable details. Who is the woman that you can picture wearing it?
I would picture a strong, fashionable, cultured, and charming lady to wear my pieces.
What is the most memorable moment in your career so far?
My most memorable moment in my career was when I produced and started to sale pieces of my first collection. It's like a dream come true.

To always make unique pieces and be known for it.
If you weren’t working on your own label, what would you be doing?
I would be in the film industry, since I have studied directing, and I also studied fashion at the same time.
Your idea of the ultimate vacation is…
My idea of the ultimate vacation is to spend time with my loved ones anywhere in the world. It's the company that matters more than the place.
What’s the first thing you do as soon as you wake up?
When I wake up, the first thing I do, is to admire God's creation and thank God that I have a chance to realize my dreams.
If you had to pick one clothing item to wear for the rest of your life, what would it be?
My own simple long, black cape.
If we could peek inside your handbag, what would we find?
I think in my handbag, the only extra you may find is some drawing papers and a pencil.
