1. Not applying sunscreen or using it incorrectly
How many times have you read the phrase, always apply sunscreen even during the winter? Be sure to pick a sunscreen that is suitable for your skin type, meaning that it blends perfectly and still gives you a natural look. You'll need to apply it to the correct areas, your nose and your shoulders are super sensitive, so make sure to load up on a high SPF for these areas.
2. Not exfoliating your skin
Summer is all about spending your time at the beach, correct? However, do not underestimate what the sand and water can be doing to your skin. Be sure to exfoliate your skin, remove the dead cells so your skin can rejuvenate new cells, leaving your skin smooth and healthy.
3. Drying your skin after a shower
How do you dry your skin after the shower? Do you rub it with a towel until you're fully dry and have irritated your skin? Well, that is wrong! In the summer especially, just pat your skin with the towel, leaving it damp, and apply a good moisturizer right away.
4. Removing body hair at the wrong time
Whether you wax, shave, or go for laser hair removals, do not under any circumstances remove any body hair before you head to the beach or pool. Your skin will be super sensitive and very irritable after removing the hair. Be sure to do that process, at least the night before, if not the day before you head to the beach.
5. Ignoring your bug or mosquito bites
Do not itch! Yes, you will scar and leaving it alone will not take care of the matter either. Always tend to your bug bites as soon as you can.
6. Not paying attention to the heel of your foot
Have you touched the heel of your foot lately? Is it dry and patchy? In the summer we wear a lot of flip flops and sandals, exposing our heel to dirt and sand to mention a few. How about investing in a foot scrub and exfoliating your feet at least once a week to get rid of the dry skin over there?
