Does your morning routine take up a lot of time? Do you head out to work every morning rushed? Sometimes, we all have one of those days, but when you manage to organize your time properly, even when it comes to your own beauty routine, you'll soon discover that your bad habits can stop. A much calmer daily routine will most certainly lead to you becoming a more confident and empowered woman.
You can easily become a morning person, and start your day just the right way. We teamed up with Veet to tell you 10 tips to get ready faster every morning, so read on.
1. Improve your quality of sleep.
It's a fact. When you sleep well, you wake up more refreshed and ready to conquer the day. Make sure to sleep from 7 to 8 hours every night. Don't make hitting the snooze button a habit, as it irritates your sleeping pattern and makes you wake up in a cranky mood.
2. Prepare your outfits the night before.
Avoid browsing through your closet every morning, thinking that nothing looks good on you. If you spend 10 minutes every night to prepare your outfit for the next day, you'll get ready faster in the morning. Just imagine waking up, having your outfit ready, right down with the handbag, shoes, accessories and all. Saves a lot of time!
3. Stick to a makeup routine.
When you have a tried and tested morning makeup routine, just stick to it. Don't be a makeup junkie. All what you'll need is a dab of concealer to hide any dark circles, a neutral shade of lipstick and some mascara to make your eyes pop up.
4. Do your beauty treatments at home.
Don't head out to the salon to get a wax body hair removal. You can do it yourself at the comfort of your own home using wax strips; we actually tried Veet, and we loved it. You'll feel more confident when your body is fresh and clean. Nothing can stop you from wearing your favorite day dress if you feel like it.
5. Do something that makes you happy.
This might sound irrelevant, but if you think of it, when you're in a good mood, you'll get ready faster. Put on some good music, read a positive quote, or even go kiss your little child before you head out.
6. Have your work bag already packed.
Instead of running around in the morning, looking for your laptop, phone charger or preparing your lunch box, just prepare everything you'll need the night before. Don't forget to prepare breakfast too, it's essential to give you energy and help you feel more alert.
7. Shower quickly.
You can actually take a shower the night before to save loads of time, but if you're one of those people who love morning showers, then you should learn how to do it quickly. Avoid washing your hair, as drying it and styling it will take up a good couple of minutes.
8. Learn quick-fix hairstyles.
Anyone can wake up with a bad hair day, so always have a back-up plan for your hairstyle. For example, a bun is always a perfect way to fix a bad hair day. Have your favorite hair-styling tools and products ready, to speed up the process.
9. Don't check your phone.
We're all addicted to our phones, aren't we? However, checking your email and social media first thing in the morning will waste a lot of time.
10. Time yourself.
This goes without saying, time yourself. Avoid having a 30-minute shower, and don't spend 15 minutes ironing your shirt or looking for a pair of shoes. Every task that you do while you're getting ready should be timed. I'm not saying walk around with a stop-watch, but have a sense of time and monitor any delay.
