Do you know this workout that you do and feel like your body got immediately toned? Since it's summer time and like all women, I'm looking for a a toned body and a flat tummy to head to the beach. Plank is considered one of the best exercises for body toning as it concentrates on the core of your muscles, upper and lower abs. Plank exercise approaches legs and arms too which can also burn more fat than crunches or sit-ups. It almost challenges most of your body muscles and builds strength.
How to do a plank?
1. Lay down on the floor with your face down and rest all your body and weight on your knees and forearms.
2. Push your body away from the floor. Rest on your elbows instead of you forearms and your toes instead of your knees.
3. Keep your back flat and straight, raise your head and waist up and prevent your butt from dropping down, this will ruin the purpose of the workout.
4. Hold on and stay in this position as long as you can. For beginners, 25-35 seconds are fine. You can do a plank for a minute or more when you get more fit
5. Do this up to 4 times.
