Ginger-Lemon Zest Iced Tea (Sierra Leone)

Ingredients

Lemon zest

2–3 tbsp peeled, sliced ginger

6 tea bags

4 cups of filtered water

3 tbsp honey

Lime slices

Fresh mint

Steps

1- Place the ginger and lemon zest in a saucepan. Add water and heat the mixture until it almost boils. After a minute of simmering the mixture on low heat, remove from the flame.

2- Boil for 8 to 10 minutes after adding the tea bags and 3–4 mint leaves. Take out the tea bags and discard the mint leaves. Let the ginger and lemon zest simmer for a while longer.

3- After adding honey to the tea, let it cool and then store it in the refrigerator to ensure it stays cold.

4- Take the tea out of the fridge, filter it through a strainer into a pitcher, and throw away the ginger and lemon zest.

5- Slices of lime and mint are added as garnish after tall glasses of ice are filled with tea.

Sweet Iced Tea (USA)

Ingredients

¼ teaspoon baking soda

8 cups filtered water

10–12 regular-size black tea bags

3–4 mint leaves

Simple syrup:

1 cup filtered water

¾ cup sugar

Steps

1- Put the baking soda, tea bags, and mint in a heat-resistant pitcher.

2- Heat 8 cups of water to almost boiling point and transfer into a pitcher. After a quick stir, let the tea boil for five minutes.

3- Prepare the simple syrup by heating water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat while the tea steeps. After stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved, turn off the heat source.

4- Take the tea bags out of the jug. Remove as much liquid as you can.

5- After adding the simple syrup to the pitcher and stirring everything together, let the tea cool to room temperature. Chill till very cold.

6- Transfer the mixture into glasses with ice and decorate with lemon slices and fresh mint.

English Iced Tea (England)

Ingredients

6 English tea bags (you could use Earl Grey)

2 tablespoons sugar

1 tablespoon honey

3 small lemons, 2 juiced and 1 sliced

1 orange, sliced

Steps

1- Boil the water for 10 minutes. Stir in orange and sugar until dissolved. Include tea bags.

2- Take out the tea bags. Allow tea to cool before pouring into a pitcher and placing it in the fridge to cool.

3- Take the tea out of the fridge and mix in the mint, lemon juice, and orange and lemon segments. Mix thoroughly.

4- Pour iced tea into glasses with ice when ready to serve. If desired, garnish with more mint.

Hibiscus Iced Tea (Mexico)

Ingredients

½ cup dried hibiscus flowers

4 cups of filtered water

3 tbsp fresh lime juice

Simple syrup:

½ cup granulated sugar

¾ cup filtered water

Steps

1- Put the flowers into a big pot. Pour in some water. Heat up some water to a boil. Put a lid on the saucepan right away, reduce the heat, and simmer the mixture for about fifteen minutes.

2- While the flowers boil, prepare the simple syrup in a small saucepan over medium heat by combining the sugar and water. After stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved, turn off the heat source.

3- Take the pot off of the burner. After letting the tea cool, filter the flowers. Stir the tea after adding the simple syrup and fresh lime juice. After pouring the tea into a pitcher, place it in the fridge to cool.

4- Pour into glasses with ice and, if preferred, top with mint leaves.

Iced Matcha Latte (Japan)

Ingredients

¾ teaspoon of matcha powder

¾ cup oat or almond milk

¼ cup hot filtered water

2 teaspoons of honey, or to taste

Steps

1- Pour milk into a 340-cup or a heat-resistant glass filled with ice cubes.

2- Mix the boiling water and matcha powder in a small bowl until a fine foam forms.

3- Whisk in the honey and beat until well blended.

4- Over the ice and milk, pour the matcha-honey mixture.

Mint Green Tea (Morocco)

Ingredients

7 fresh mint sprigs cut in half so they can fit in the teapot and more for garnish 

1 teaspoon tea

500ml boiling water 

3 tbsp sugar

Steps

1- Bring a pot or kettle to a boil.

2- Fill your teapot with enough boiling water to cover the green tea leaves. After giving it a quick swirl, filter and discard the water. The leaves are cleaned as a result.

3- Add sugar and fresh mint to your teapot along with the cleaned green tea leaves. Pour the remaining boiling water into the saucepan and steep the tea for five minutes.

4- To serve, carefully pour the tea into the cups at a height such that the top of each glass has a foamy "head."

Karak Chai (India)

Ingredients

4 tea bags

13 cardamom pods, cracked

Long cinnamon stick

3 Tbsp. (or more) sugar

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 cup evaporated milk

Steps

1- In a tea kettle, bring 6 cups of water to a boil. Bring back to a boil after adding the tea bags, cinnamon, cardamom, sugar, and vanilla essence. After adding the evaporated milk, carefully monitor the tea to make sure it doesn't boil over. For about 30 minutes, or until thick, creamy, and caramel in color, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer.

2- Pour the tea into mugs using a fine-mesh strainer; throw away the tea bags and spices.
