What made this adventure even more interesting was discovering how women around the world take care of themselves, with each country offering something unique. Ready to join me on this journey to explore skincare secrets from across the globe? Let’s get started…
1- Korean Skincare Routine
Is there anything better than the flawless skin of Korean girls? We've all become obsessed with it lately, and we’re eager to uncover their secrets to achieve such radiant and smooth skin. The Korean skincare routine is known for being multi-step, designed to deeply hydrate and rejuvenate the skin. The routine typically includes the following:
- Double Cleansing: Start with an oil-based cleanser followed by a water-based cleanser.
- Exfoliation: Gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells.
- Sheet Masks: For deep hydration and nourishment.
- Toner: Balances the skin's pH and preps it for better absorption.
- Serums/Ampoules: Targets specific concerns like anti-aging or hydration.
- Moisturizing: Using a deep moisturizing cream to refresh and energize the skin.
2- Indian Skincare Routine
I’ve always been curious about how Indians, known for their love of nature, care for their skin. Do they make their own creams, or do they use the same ones available in stores like we do? I discovered that their skincare routine is primarily based on natural ingredients, and here are its main elements:
-Facial Oils: They primarily use oils for hydration, such as coconut oil, sesame oil, or almond oil for massage (Abhyanga), which helps improve circulation and gives the skin a natural glow.
-Natural Masks: Turmeric face masks are popular for their anti-inflammatory and brightening effects, while sandalwood and rose water masks are used for cooling and soothing.
-Neem Paste or Oil: An antibacterial treatment commonly used to combat acne.
3. Japanese Skincare Routine
What sets this routine apart, in my opinion, is its simplicity; it doesn’t rely on a huge number of products, yet it’s highly effective. The flawless skin of Japanese women is the best proof of this. The routine is primarily based on three key principles: simplicity, hydration, and a radiant complexion.
Double Cleansing: Similar to K-beauty but often simpler.
Tsubaki (Camellia) Oil: A lightweight oil used for moisturizing the skin and hair.
Rice Water: Used for brightening the skin and improving its texture.
Sheet Masks: For hydration and nourishment, typically with fewer layers than Korean beauty products.
4. Moroccan Skincare Routine
Moroccan clay and argan oil are the two main star ingredients of the Moroccan skincare routine, which is fundamentally based on all things natural.
Rhassoul Clay: A mineral-rich clay mask used for detoxifying and exfoliating the skin.
Argan Oil: Known for its moisturizing and anti-aging properties, it’s applied to the face, body, and hair.
Black Soap (Savon Noir): An exfoliating soap made with olive oil, used in traditional baths for deep cleansing.
5. African Skincare Routine
If you’re wondering about the beauty of African women’s skin, the answer lies in shea butter and African black soap. These two are essential components of this skincare routine.
Shea Butter: A deeply moisturizing ingredient used to soften and heal the skin.
African Black Soap: Made from plant-based ingredients like ash from burnt cocoa pods or roasted plantain peels, it’s a powerful yet gentle exfoliator.
Baobab Oil: Rich in omega fatty acids, it helps to moisturize and repair the skin.
6. Ancient Egyptian Skincare Routine
We can’t deny that the beauty of Queen Cleopatra has inspired many and continues to do so today. Many have sought to uncover the secrets of Cleopatra’s beauty and how she cared for her skin. From this, we discovered the key components of the ancient Egyptian skincare routine:
Milk Baths: The lactic acid in milk acts as a gentle exfoliator, leaving the skin soft and smooth.
Honey Masks: Honey is naturally antibacterial and moisturizing, making it perfect for achieving a radiant glow.
Aloe Vera: Known for its soothing and healing properties, especially for sensitive skin or sunburns.
7- Turkish Skincare Routine
