Long plane flights can be exhausting, not just on you, but on your skin as well. When you're flying you're skin gets extremely dry from the extreme lack in humidity that's almost 20 % less than your normal outdoor environment. When you land, your skin freaks out wanting to produce moisture, ends up releasing a lot of oil which breaks you out. To minimize the damage caused to your skin in a flight and leave the airport with plump, glowing skin:
1. Restrain from wearing any makeup
Remove any makeup or makeup residue before hopping on a plane. Being exposed to this much dehydration and unsanitary air with makeup on can cause your pores to get blocked which causes breakouts, black and whiteheads. So you should really cleanse your skin properly before boarding or on the plane if you're short on time. We recommend going the extra mile (pun intended) with Micellar water like the Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution or the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.
2. Hydrate your skin
During the whole trip try to hydrate your skin as much as possible. Get a nice hydrating face mist to help revive your skin's moisture and give you a refreshing feeling. You can try using the Cosmedix Mystic Hydrating Mist or the Sisley Paris Floral Hydrating Mist.
3. The power of a serum
Use a serum with antioxidants to protect your skin from damage, especially because the air on plane is recycled and contains diminished amounts of oxygen. Serums you can try out: Skinceuticals Phloretin CF or Skinmedia TNS Essential Serum.
4. Nourishing oils
You're skin needs its food and the best food out there is a good oil working to bring back plumpness and glow. Using oils around the neck, eye area and lips is also beneficial on the plane. Try: Chanel Jasmine Oil or Sisley Black Rose Precious Face Oil or The Ordinary 100% cold-pressed Rose Hip Oil.
5. Luscious creams
Pack with you some small portion of our favorite thickest moisturizer. Giving your skin this kind of hydration will protect it from the cabin's air throughout the trip. Apply the cream more than once if you can. There's Cosmedix Rescue Balm & Mask or Niod Multi Molecular Hyaluronic Serum.
6. The infamous sheet mask
You've seen all your favorite celebrities snap a selfie with these on. They're Hollywood's skin secret and they're perfect on a place because of the thin, hassle free, packaging. Throw these on for as long as you want during your flight and your skin will thank you for the rest of the day. Try out our favorites: Dr. Jart+ Hydration Lover Rubber Masks and Sephora Collection Rose Face Mask.
