Your kind of busy week may be different from another person’s, but there’s always something in common, which is that there’s no time for self-care! You may often find yourself busy working, doing household chores, helping your family, or taking care of other responsibilities. Something that can affect your physical and mental health and hinder you from going on like this for a long period. No matter how many responsibilities you have, you must take care of yourself and squeeze self-care activities into your schedule. That said, we’ll show you how to fit self-care activities into your busy week, so keep reading.

Wake up an hour earlier

Some people worship their sleep time and would rather wake up late than set their alarm a minute earlier than their usual wake time. While good sleep is healthy for your body, waking up an hour earlier can have many more benefits than you think. For starters, you can sleep an hour early so you don’t jeopardize your sleep schedule. Moreover, when you wake up an hour earlier, you will have some time to enjoy yourself. You can put on your workout clothes and take a 30-minute walk in the neighborhood or on your treadmill. If you’re not into working out, enjoy this hour listening to your favorite music to put you in a good mood and prepare you for a hectic day at work.

Find inspiration

Leading a busy life can make us lose interest in what we’re doing. Therefore, it is important to always find inspiration by thinking about ideas you enjoy. You can draw inspiration from the beauty of nature, books, blogs, or even Pinterest boards. Inspiration can also be found while doing outside activities, such as walking, yoga, and spending time with family and friends.

Create a schedule

Aside from your regular schedule, where you go to work and do other routine activities, create a schedule for your self-care activities. Squeezing in a few minutes every day to do something you love can have an enormous impact on health and mood. For example, on Sundays, instead of heading home after work, hit the gym and join the Zumba class you love or head to Starbucks and order your favorite drink (preferably not coffee). Furthermore, you can schedule a video call with your girlfriends once a week to check up on one another and share funny moments in case you’re unable to meet.

Use your lunch break

If you have a full-time job, you probably have 30 minutes for lunch every day. Instead of spending your entire break eating, try doing something else. Snack during your shift and eat your lunch in 15 minutes. Enjoy the rest of your break doing something fun, such as doodling, journaling, listening to music or podcasts, or anything that makes you feel happy and relaxed.

A little bit of exercise goes a long way

Not all of us like exercising. Some find it unnecessary to move or walk while others know its benefits but are too lazy to do it. Trust us, exercising even for a few minutes can boost your mood and health more than you know. You don’t have to do 100 jumping jacks or a 5-minute plank! There are plenty of easy beginner workout videos on YouTube that only take 5 minutes or so. Try to incorporate these exercises into your daily routine and you’ll notice the difference.

Keep up with your self-care routine

We know how busy you are, and we’re sure that you don’t have time to do a full skincare routine every morning. However, that doesn’t mean you have to skip the whole thing and simply wash your face with soap and water! Following a skincare routine makes you feel relaxed, refreshed, and clean. Every day before bedtime, wash your face with a special cleanser, apply moisturizer and night cream, and wear your lip mask. You don’t need much to accomplish a successful skincare routine. Moreover, once or twice a week, take a refreshing bath, scrub your body with a nice-smelling exfoliator, light some candles, and simply enjoy yourself. These small things truly matter.

Is it tough for you to squeeze in self-care activities throughout your hectic week? If this is the case, don't be concerned. You are not alone. Many people struggle to find time for themselves in the middle of the busy pace of daily life. However, making time for oneself is essential. Apply the above tips and you’ll feel accomplished and a whole lot better.
