Luckily, there are ways to have fun, though, before it becomes too chilly. There are many places in Egypt that are just as thrilling, even though you won't be taking a weekend trip to the North Coast. Any of these mini-vacations will be a blast, whether you're attempting to make plans for a 3-day weekend or intend to take a long one this month.

Take a Nile cruise
One of the best things to do in Egypt is to drift down the Nile River past the ruins of temples and tombs. The majority of cruises travel between Aswan and Luxor, stopping at Esna, Edfu, and Kom Ombo along the route. A felucca is a small, Egyptian sailboat, but you can also travel the Nile River via cruise ship (the most popular choice), dahabiya (smaller wooden ships, ideal for people who prefer to travel in a smaller group or desire a more sentimental experience), or a cruise ship.
Explore historic Cairo
Islamic Cairo is the center of Cairo's history. One of the biggest collections of ancient Islamic architecture can be seen here. Cairo is one of the world's oldest Islamic towns, with several mosques, madrassas, fortresses, and tombs dating from Egypt's Islamic era. Al-Azhar Mosque, a walk down Al-Muizz li-Din Allah al-Fatima Street (also known as al-Muizz), Salah El-Din Citadel, shopping in Khan el-Khalili, and Al-Rifa'i Mosque are among the major attractions in Islamic Cairo.

Day use at a hotel
Spending a day at a hotel, where you get to swim in the pool, enjoy lux breakfast and lunch will surely make your weekend count. It is a great chance for you to relax and break the routine after 5 or 6 long, tiring days. You may even spend two or more days at a hotel, if you like, to double the fun.
Africa park
Since the Giza zoo is currently closed as it’s being renovated, Africa park is an excellent alternative, where you and your kids (if any) can watch and interact with animals. It is located in KM 65 Cairo - Alex Desert Road, Alexandria, so it’d be perfect to plan a visit to it on a Friday morning with your family.
Fagnoon art
We bet that most of our millennial readers have been to Fagnoon at some point in their lives. However, if you haven’t been there or miss the place and want to revisit it, Fagnoon gives you the chance to discover your artistic side while creating drawings, paintings, ceramics, and even paper mâché. This place also conducts entertaining activities like mud and color fights. A few farm animals, including amiable horses, are also available for the youngsters to play with. Fayoum
Fayoum, renowned for its expansive stretches of desert, lakes, and waterfalls, is only around two hours from Cairo. Spend the night at Tunis, a charming community with a view of Qaroun Lake, where you can participate in a pottery class, go horseback riding, eat fiteer made locally, go birdwatching, or simply stroll around the fields. Additionally, there are protected areas where you may go camping. There, you can enjoy the local bedouin cuisine while enjoying things like sandboarding and horseback riding.

Melanite mall is an interesting place, where you can dine, have breakfast, enjoy top-notch coffee, or paint! At Il Pannello, you can choose a pottery piece, be it a plate, mug, or anything and paint them with your choice of colors. 10 days later, you can come back and receive your shiny piece. Every piece has a price tag on it, so choose whichever one you like.
Spend the weekend in Alexandria
Alexandria, the second-largest city in Egypt and a well-liked tourist attraction, is a great weekend getaway. You can travel to Alexandria from Cairo in a single day or stay overnight. The Serapeum, Alexandria National Museum, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Corniche, Stanley Bridge, Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, and Montazah Palace Gardens are some of the city's top attractions.
The weekend ideas are endless, so choose whatever suits your mood and budget. If you like to spend a serene weekend, choose a quiet place.
