We're usually all waiting around to see what Elie Saab has in store at Paris Fashion Week. His ready-to-wear spring 2020 collection, as always did not disappoint. The collection is described on their instagram as "ladylike approach to adventure", "expedition-chic pieces that balance harmoniously between adventure and luxury" and "Safari-inspired hues & breezy silhouettes", which of course brings us to the beautiful Kaftan designs and Kaftan inspired pieces that caught our attention the most on the runway. So let's talk about his unique and creative take on the classic piece.
Unique Kaftan Designs
Kaftans came in different, unique and modern designs to fit the modern woman. There were pleated and embellished kaftans as well as kaftan-inspired dresses worn with cardigans and capes to give off the magnificence of a kaftan but in a more modern and untraditional way.
Block Colored Looks at Elie Saab
There were a lot of different fabrics used on the runway. We noticed, chiffon, satin, tulle and lace. However, the colors were definitely the highlight. With block colored looks of yellow, green, rose and red that gave the kaftans a stunning vibrance against the models' skin. There were also some bright geometric prints on long flowy dresses.
Statement Accessories Styled with Kaftans
The accessories also cannot be missed for they looked exceptional with the kaftans offering them a look of sophistication and being a strong inspiration for evening looks. The big statement gold chokers were to die for and long pendants and necklaces had a comeback.
