We're used to seeing the bride put so much attention and detail into her wedding look, starting with her wedding gown. She picks it out according to trends, the location of the wedding and the decor. Often the groom's suit is overlooked because of the limited options and similar choices they have, unless they're going for something unconventional. However, did you know that sometimes the wedding suit can be not at all suitable for the event? This is a guide to help every groom pick the suitable wedding suit for the big day, that fits the time, place and aesthetic of their wedding. Give your suit the deserved attention with these tips and mistakes to avoid while picking a groom's suit.
1. Wearing a tuxedo:
The classic tuxedo adds the most powerful touch of elegance to a man's look. However, if you're having a morning wedding in an open air venue or garden, you might want to consider going for something more morning friendly and saving your tux for an evening look, not before 6 pm.
2. Keeping all the suit buttons closed:
Closing all your suit's buttons gives off the feeling as if your wearing pajamas. For that reason, always leave the bottom button of your jacket open.
3. The pant's length:
A lot of grooms prefer going for pants that are long enough to cover part of their shoes. However, this is among the mistakes that people fall into, for the pants should not be touching the 'face' of the shoe at all.
4. Wearing suspenders "and" a belt:
You shouldn't wear suspenders and a belt together, especially since they both serve the same purpose which is to hold your pants in place. Also, this look is not suitable or flowing with what's trending in men's fashion now.
5. Colored suits:
Some grooms like to wear a bright, light colored suit on their wedding day even if it will take place at night. However, in the fashion world it is preferred to go for lighter colors only if it's a morning wedding. However, blue, navy and black suits are more suitable for evening weddings.
