A lot of ladies think that when wrinkles starts appearing on their face at a certain age, it's a direct sign that they will no longer be able to rock any makeup look. Well, that is never true! You probably hear of the power of makeup, and how miraculous it can be, but you tend to think that only professional makeup artists can use it that way. And because the area around the eyes is always the first to show signs of aging and wrinkles, I've brought you a bunch of simple tips and tricks to do all by yourself and ace a flawless eye makeup look in no time!

1. Know when/where to use bright or glittery eye shadows

If you have a wide upper eyelid, you can use glittery bright eye shadow on the center of the lid. Glitter grains will create an illusion that will mask away the wrinkles. You can also use metallic shades towards the inner corner and contrast things out with a bold shade from the outer corner. If there isn't much space between your brows and your eyes, then make sure to use bright colors (e.g. silver) only close to your upper lash line. Of course, stay away from glossy eyelids since they won't be compatible for wrinkled skin making you feel uncomfortable and sticky.

2. If you smoke it up, do it like this:

Since most aging eyes are hooded, smokey would be a perfect choice. Brown shades always work best when it comes to wrinkles, and if you wish to add a glimpse of black smoke, make sure it's as precise and close to the lash line as possible.

3. A high coverage concealer is everything

Under eyes is a very crucial area not only for face makeup, but for eye makeup as well. Without illuminating the under eye area well, your eye makeup will never pop out. There will always be something that's missing. Make sure to use a high coverage concealer that is one shade brighter than your skin, and use an orange color corrector if you have heavy dark circles. This will brighten up the area which will define your eyes more and draw the attention away from any wrinkles.

4. Don't forget to 'bake'

Of course I don't mean the cake baking! The word 'baking' in makeup means using loose powder underneath the eyes for more than one purpose. First, it is a trap for any eye shadow that falls of and ruin your under eye area. Second, it sets the concealer in place and when removed, it gives a flawless silky skin look.

5. The thinner your eyeliner is, the trickier!

Don't fall into the thick eyeliner trap! If you ever wish to thicken it up, go towards the outer corner of the eye. Thinner eyeliner makes the eye look more defined without being messy/clumsy. Wrinkles will make a thick eyeliner look zigzag-y which is definitely something you don't look forward to! If you like a bold eye look, it's better recommended to do it by smudging out your thin liner.

6. Never neglect your eyebrows

Eye brows subtly controls the overall eye look. In spite of this, a lot of ladies ignore defining them. "Defining them" doesn't have to be a big deal. It could be achieved by just brushing them, filling their gaps using an eye shadow, or using a brow gel mascara.

7. Lashes do miracles

Yes, they do! If you don't want to go through the hassle of the eyeliner, you can get enough glam by adding a few coats of your favorite mascara or even applying a pair of false lashes. Lashes boost the eye look and make them look 10 times younger.

8. Lower lid eye shadow do's & don'ts

Aging eyes and thick bold lower lid shadows are never best friends. If you look for a more defined look, a very light shadow on the lower lash line will be all what you need. Intense eye shadows on the lower lash line will make the wrinkles pop out more.

9. Blend, blend and blend!

Good blending is the key! You can apply all the mentioned tips, but still wonder why your eye makeup isn't perfect. Blending is everything; it is the secret behind the homogeneity of the overall look. It may seem a trivial tip, but trust me, it is extremely crucial.
